MAUI NUI’S PREMIER CULTURAL SHOWCASE

He nui a mano ke aloha  “Aloha is abundant “

This year’s theme is symbolized by the delicate white blossoms of the ‘ilihia plant. Native to Hawai’i, this shrub grows along the forest floor in many parts of East Maui. Its fruit hang from the stalk like tiny egg-shaped pearls, while its broad, heart-shaped leaves cover and protect them. ‘Ilihia reminds us that even the most small and fragile can survive when blessed with nature’s abundant Aloha.
